Drama is a great way to help build confidence and develop creativity. In these drama sessions, children will be involved with various activities to support their character development. Daily activities include physical and vocal warm-ups, drama games, movement, improvisation, and scripted work.
Children will work with a professional actor or theatre director on a fully licensed scripted show. All children will be allocated parts and will work through scripted scenes as an individual, in pairs or as an ensemble with the drama practitioner. All the rehearsed scenes will culminate in a final show which will be performed to family on the final day.
All of the activities are fun and engaging, and your child will be guaranteed to leave with a smile on their face and long-lasting memories.
Should COVID-19 restrictions be in place at the time, we will look to film the performance and stream to parents.
Types of activities:
- Freeze frames
- Drama games
- Vocal warm-ups – working on articulation, pronunciation, and accents
- Physical warm up – stretches, isolation activities for movement memory, physical aerobic style warm-ups to music
- Script work
- Movement – developing characterisation by looking at how the characters feels or react to a situation and how this changes their movement and physicality
